Hi !
I am a french girl. I vote for Françoise David and Québec Solidaire.

The truth is : most of french quebecers don't care about english music at the hockey games ! But what we read in the newspapers is rarely what most french quebecers think, but what the few extemists think...

Even though I love Canada and I think that we, quebecers, should take example on english candian for some things (like politeness), I think that it would be better if we seperate.

On the other hand, I have to admit I am deeply ashamed by some separatists like Michel Brûlé or Pierre Falardeau...

Thanks for reading me.

Black lights! Yes! Sabres and Habs both have white jerseys. But then again, maybe black lights are a little to risqué if you know what I mean... I don't know what kind of stains they have on their jerseys.

About Wikpedia, it's just there. I know it's not always 100% correct, but I use it (but not for school!). Toshiba Toshiba Toshiba... what about Apple? SO much better.

You mean, Habs are luminescent because they're hot, right?

I almost went to see the Rockettes (and RENT!) while in NYC. Then, there was the stagehands and writers strike.

At my last College, they had Tibetan Monks for about a week creating a "Sand Mandala." It was crazy, they spent the while week creating this really cool work of art, then they went and busted it up and gave everyone the sand. The monks had jewelry you could buy from them that they handmade. I bought a ring. They were so kind. They all bowed and thanked me - for buying a ring. I love them!

Dk,

See my May 18th entry. And, NO, your wife will not understand, no should she. I sincerely hope she did not read this blog.

As for the Dalai, I see him less as a religious/spiritual figure and more as a symbol of political significance - not that I"m a big fan of politics. Still, China has no business whatsoever in Tibet & the smarmy crap that it is somehow historically an extension of China and therefore rightfully a possession of China to batter into submission as it will is so much !@@#Q!$!@$. A common misapprehension of China underlies this bs in that there is a belief that China's history in one long continuous homogenous whole which LIE is of course happily promoted by the politburo. LOL. If you're talking about a fragmented, ethnically/linguistically/politically patchwork, you're talking China. What a huge joke to think that the Han the Chin, the Shang, the Sung, the Mongols, the Ming, the Manchus, the Communists & etc etc represent some kind of political and cultural unity over time. Hell, even as we speak, China is busily suppressing not only Tibet but other substantial minorities (often numbering in the tens of millions) in the name of some kind of non-existent Chinese reality that they are assiduously hammering into being in a bloody and hypocritical fashion - not that we are less than complicit in this charade. Oh yeah, the problem of striving to be `freer' starts at home, eh?

DK,

I never shared the opinion that Detroit was `hockeytown' or that Howe was the best player ever. Far as I'm concerned greatness in hockey is measured in Cups and nothing else and therefore it follows that that honour belongs to Montreal and Beliveau and/or Henri Richard. As for signing his name `Mr. Hockey', hey he's getting on and, given his less that `sharp' acumen, I'm sure that somebody has convinced him that this is a good thing. Once again, hockey illustrates an interesting aspect of `human nature' aspect, to wit: the childish yet common belief that because somebody says it to be so makes it so. Alas, our culture in this respect is stunted yet the truth is that if a blatant lie of whatever kind re whatever subject is first presented to people who for various reasons swallow it whole they almost invariably do not let go of it regardless of often overwhelming evidence that refutes it. It never ceases to amaze me how easily we are therefore manipulated into espousing abusive and exploitive agendas always, of course, in the name of virtue. Why are we so vulnerable in this respect? I'll leave that for another blog or book or two or three or ..... hehehe. In any case, in this instance, this `chutzpah' is probably more acceptable to Americans than Canadiens who espouse an ethos of `modesty' that often rings false - for example, the current bs that the rich, expecially the Hollywood breed, are just like u and me. So, let him stake out his claim to fame and remember him as a great player only no Beliveau.

DK,

So, U & the Dalai Lama are potential soul mates, eh? And why not? Of course, when it comes to `pucks' you obviously do not share the same philosophy because the Dalai is all for `enlightenment' whereas in this respect you seem to be more in favour of the`what u see is what U get' school of thought. Hmm, perhaps there is room for compromise here - only teams such as the Sabres/Leafs/Sens/Flyers who clearly have trouble `seeing' the puck should use the illuminated disc. Obviously, teams such as the Habs who are already `in the know' have no need for such a cheap prop.

Pens & Wings, good match-up. Cherry called it. Me? I KNOW that the Habs should be there, certainly the smart spanking the Pens administered to the Flyers clearly shows how unbelievably lucky they were against us. We woulda taken the Pens in 6.

La P. LaPlaPlaPlaP. A laptop IS a computer. Whether or not it is `better' is moot - depends on what you need/want it for. Also, U are in need not only of a good dictionary (Webster's sucks, try a Random House) but a grammar, an encyclopedia, again go with Britannica (Wikpedia & Encarta suck), as well as a good book on aesthetics so you can better apprehend the true beauty of hockey against which your unhealthy fixation on the Sabres clearly mitigates. As for flowers, ha! U should be sending me flowers (wild roses would be nice), chocolates, a trusty automobile as well as a new laptop (Toshiba is good) in partial return for all the moral support, concrete advice and kind words I have extended to you. Sigh, the younger generation, their priorities are topsy-turvy.

Maggie, haven't U noticed? Hab's sweaters are naturally luminescent ... hehehe.

And about those night games - maybe the players could wear those florescent skeleton costumes.
